Leadership Award: Gaelic Education
Social Enterprise Academy and Education Scotland are working in partnership to deliver an Institute of Leadership and Management Award for teachers of Gaelic Education. The next Leadership Award for Gaelic Education will commence on 20 and 21 May 2016. It will be based in Strathpeffer. Education Scotland and Social Enterprise Academy acknowledge financial assistance from Bòrd na Gàidhlig towards the costs of running this award.
Scottish Learning Festival
Registration for this year’s SLF will open at the end of May, giving you the opportunity to book a place at Scotland’s leading educational event. Details will be available on the SLF websitesoon. SLF 2016 takes place on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 September in the SECC, Glasgow. SLF is free to attend and gives you access to a programme of professional development seminars hosted by practitioners and young people from across Scotland. It’s also home to the largest education exhibition in Scotland with over 100 organisations showcasing their resources.
There will be a seminar on Gaelic Education which will have a focus on promoting Gaelic Learner and Medium Education within a 1+2 Approach to Languages.

cyclist and ultra-endurance adventurer.
Once again the SLF programme will include 3 discussion sessions on the Thursday, covering Early Learning and Childcare, Secondary Progression Pathways and the Scottish Attainment Challenge, we’re looking forward to engaging debates and discussions.

Cùrsa Àrainneachd, Cànan is Dualchas
Àrainneachd, Cànan is Dualchas (‘environment, language and heritage’) is a ten-day Gaelic language learning course. It is intended for fluent speakers and near-fluent learners of the language
who would like to continue to develop their fluency. The course explores the strong links between the language and the Scottish environment. It will run in North Skye on 25-29 July and from 1-5 August, 2016. Students can attend either or both weeks. More information about this course is available here:
